Theatre Winter Haven Presents: 'Winter Wonderettes'

WHAT: "The Winter Wonderettes" by Roger Bean, presented by Theatre Winter Haven.

THE PLAY: The Wonderettes return to the Theatre Winter Haven stage in "The Winter Wonderettes" a musical comedy seasonal sequel to the very successful "The Marvelous Wonderettes." It pays homage to the high school girl song leader squads of the 1950s and appeared on the Theatre Winter Haven stage in January. This time, it is 1968 and the girls are back entertaining at the Harper's Hardware Holiday Party when Santa goes missing. The girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity to save the party. They regale the audience in their signature four-part harmony with more than 20 holiday favorites from around the world, such as "O Tannenbaum," "Mele Kalikmaka," "We Wanna See Santa Do the Mambo," "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town," "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Winter Wonderland." The show is sponsored by the Theatre Winter Haven Theatre Guild.

ABOUT THE CAST: The girls — Missy, Suzy, Betty Jean and Cindy Lou — are once again played by Jenn Mandala-Gravel, Lauren West and Jessica Eastridge from "The Marvelous Wonderettes," with the exception of Sara Carey. Jenn Roman plays the fourth Wonderette.

WHEN: Performances take place through Dec. 16. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., with additional performances Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m.
